BRIE D'ISIGNY
The Product
A classic French Brie crafted by Isigny Sainte-Mère, one of Normandy's most prestigious dairy houses. This Brie features a delicate white bloomy rind encasing a pale, supple paste that becomes increasingly creamy as it ripens. Mild, buttery, and elegantly refined — a benchmark of French cheesemaking.
Origin & Terroir
Isigny-sur-Mer sits at the confluence of the Aure and Vire rivers in Normandy, where the ocean-misted pastures produce milk of exceptional quality. The region holds both AOP and AOC designations for its dairy products. Isigny's Brie draws on this terroir and centuries of Norman cheesemaking tradition.
How to Enjoy
Serve at room temperature with a fresh baguette and unsalted butter. Classic pairings include fresh pears, walnuts, and a drizzle of honey. Pair with a light red Burgundy, Champagne, or a cider from Normandy. For a traditional French cheese course, serve after the main dish and before dessert.
Did You Know?
Brie is often called the 'King of Cheeses' — a title allegedly bestowed during a cheese competition held at the Congress of Vienna in 1814-15. Isigny Sainte-Mère's dairy cooperative was founded in 1932 and today works with over 600 Norman dairy farms.
