SAUCISSON SEC LABEL ROUGE
The Product
Dry sausage spiced with Espelette pepper from the Basque Country. This AOC chile adds fruity heat and distinctive Basque character.
Origin & Terroir
Piment d'Espelette is grown exclusively in Basque Country villages around Espelette. AOC-protected, these chiles are mild, fruity, and distinctive - nothing else tastes like them.
How to Enjoy
The gentle heat pairs well with creamy cheeses or fresh goat cheese. Excellent with Basque wines (Irouléguy) or Spanish Rioja. Try with piperade (Basque pepper stew) or simply good bread.
Did You Know?
Espelette peppers have been grown in the Basque Country since the 16th century when brought from the Americas. They're harvested in autumn and often dried on house walls, creating colorful displays. The heat level is mild (1,500-2,500 Scoville) with fruity, slightly smoky flavor.
